December 2013's Natural Disaster Alert

Hello everyone! ;-)

Before going into predictions, I just want to say that I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and wish y'all have a safe trip back home. ;-)

2013 is soon coming to a close, and we got one more month to go through. Will it be a safe one regarding the Earth Changes? This past November sure wasn't, it became the most disastrous month for natural disasters since March 2011 with an apocalyptic killer typhoon in the Philippines, massive tornado outbreak in the American Midwest, floods, and several earthquake scares throughout the month, with the last M 7+ quakes striking on November 17 and November 25. What will December have in store for us? That's the big question; will it match November 2013, surpass it, or be much quieter? Looking at this coming month, I believe it's fair enough to say that December 2013 will most likely come close to November's bouts of fury, being yet again another very active and dangerous month for natural disasters. The main difference this time is that December 2013 is mostly prone to Earthquake, Tsunami, and Landslide disasters in comparison to the past versatile November 2013, which was a BIG Weather-related disaster month. This is what December 2013 may have in store for Earth:

December 6-7:
Most Likely Scenario: Today begins the first risk period of this month, and it's a powerful one at that: Major Earthquake, with possibly severe impacts where it may strike. This period is quite powerful, especially December 6th and is set up for sudden natural disasters, most likely being a powerful earthquake over Magnitude 7.5 that brings much damage. There could be a major Tsunami during this time. 2nd Likely Scenario: Severe Landslide or Flash Flood could occur during these two dates, again most likely on 12/6, and perhaps be very destructive and deadly in nature. This scenario could be provoked by tropical cyclone activity, mainly in the form of typhoons in the West Pacific, or by a severe winter storm. 3rd Possible Scenario: A Severe Weather Event could make the news during these days as well, possibly either a Tornado Outbreak or a Serious Winter/ Coastal Storm. December can still bring severe weather to the Americas and even Europe, where there seems to be a severe storm ongoing right now and may be at play with this scenario as I speak. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake and other possible sudden events: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as South America or Iran for example. Also keep eyes on the Pacific for potential tsunamis, and Southeast Asia and Central America for possible landslides due to heavy rain. For the Storms, including both Non-tropical and Cyclones/Typhoons: Watch the Western Pacific in both the northern and southern hemispheres for any possible tropical cyclones or typhoons. Watch North America, particularly the southern part of the U.S., and Europe for possible severe weather. Aside from areas already mentioned, monitor any other world areas experiencing bad weather then just to be on the safe side. High Risk: The risk for natural disaster during this time is a heavy 40 percent, with the chance for the disaster becoming severe being 30 percent.

December 15:
Most Likely Scenario: Major Earthquake, with possibly significant to severe impacts where it hits, with a chance of Tsunami. This date is set up for a possible sudden natural disaster, most likely being a destructive earthquake around Magnitude 7.0 to even 7.5. This date is intense enough to maybe affect the days right next to it, infusing December 14 and December 16 with a chance of seeing this same event, so the period December 14-16 should be watched just to be on the safe side. 2nd Likely Scenario: Another sudden disaster, possibly in the form of a Tornado Outbreak, Landslide, or Volcanic Eruption could also occur on this date, with possibly significant impacts. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as The Philippines or the South Atlantic for example. For the Landslides, Tornadoes or Volcanoes: Watch Central America as well as Southeast Asia, especially around Taiwan and the Philippines, closely especially for when it comes to floods and landslides that may be caused by severe rains, and Indonesia for volcanoes. Monitor the Southeastern Quadrant of the United States for any possible severe weather episodes that could give rise to tornadoes. Watch other world areas experiencing bad weather by then as well. Significant Risk: The risk for natural disaster during this time is 25 percent with the chance for the event to become severe being 15 percent.

December 18-19:
Most Likely Scenario: Another Major Earthquake is a strong possibility during this time, likeliest on December 18, possibly attaining Magnitude 7.5+ with perhaps severe impacts. 2nd Likely Scenario: A Major Storm, probably a Winter Storm could strike during these dates with potentially significant impacts. This storm could be a Massive Coastal Storm or a Severe Weather System capable of producing all sorts of weather from Snow to Tornadoes. 3rd Possible Scenario: A Typhoon or Cyclone, could be yet another outcome in this potent period. December can still bring Typhoons to the West Pacific, and the South Pacific also begins heating up. With this being such a devastating year for typhoons, it’s a good idea to monitor these areas for any more possible activity as we approach these dates. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions closely, primarily along the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as the California or Japan for instance. For the Weather-type Scenarios: Watch the Western Tropical Pacific and the South Pacific around Australia very closely for possible tropical cyclones. The U.S. and Canada, as well as Europe, could be a target for major winter storms, which may bring the threat for Tornadoes in the Southern U.S. and Blizzards in the North. Also keep eyes on the Caribbean region, Central America, and Southeast Asia for heavy rains which could produce floods and mudslides. Watch any other world regions experiencing nasty weather by then. High Risk: The chance for natural disaster during this time is 30 percent with a 20 percent risk for that same disaster to be severe in nature.

December 21:
1st Possible Scenario: Strong Earthquake with possibly moderate impacts could occur on this day, with the Magnitude possibly registering between 6.5 and 7.0. Out of all the risk dates this month this one is the mildest, yet it still deserves mention as there is a chance we could see a damaging earthquake then. 2nd Possible Scenario: Another type of sudden natural disaster could occur on or around this day, most likely in the form of a Landslide, Flash Flood, or Tornado. Again, such events on this date would most likely have moderate impacts. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as Pakistan and the Mediterranean for example. For the other possible events: Watch Southeast Asia and Tropical America for potential landslides and flash floods, and the Southern U.S. for any severe weather that could occur, including some tornadoes. Keep close eyes on any other world regions experiencing bad weather by then. Modest Risk: The chance for natural disaster on this date is 15 percent.

December 23-27:
Most Likely Scenario: Massive Earthquake with possibly severe to catastrophic impacts could occur during this very dangerous period, with the Magnitude possibly registering between 7.5 and 8.5. Out of all the risk dates this month, this one is the worst-looking one, with the central main risk date December 24 having a rare “extreme risk” for natural disaster. There is a chance that the massive earthquake scenario could occur just before or after this date, meaning December 23 or December 25. The last two dates of this period, December 26-27, might also have a major earthquake, possibly being a separate event from whatever occurs around 12/24. There is also a significant risk for a severe tsunami during this whole time-frame as well. It is a powerful risk period perfectly set up for a tsunami disaster. Not only is this the riskiest time period this month, it’s also the time frame is the riskiest natural disaster window of 2013. For perspective, this period is a tad riskier than the November 16-19 period that just passed, which brought a 7.8 quake and the tornadoes in the American Midwest. 2nd Likely Scenario: Another type of major sudden natural disaster could occur during this period, most likely in the form of a Landslide, Flash Flood or even Volcanic Eruption. Impacts from such events could be very severe as well. 3rd Likely Scenario: A potentially devastating, crippling Winter Storm/ Blizzard is another strong possibility for this extremely powerful risk period. Any major winter storm that occurs during this time has the potential to become truly historic, and could bring incredible effects from Snow and Severe Weather. It could prove deadly and destructive. 4th Possible Scenario: Despite being Late December, I can't dismiss the chance for a Major Typhoon, Cyclone, or Tornado Outbreak to make headlines during Christmas Week, due to the unusually negative power of these dates. Should a tropical cyclone exist prior to this date and be heading in the general direction of land, or a tornado outbreak become imminent, the risk for this event scenario will go up significantly. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as Indonesia, American Pacific coasts and the South Atlantic for example. For the other possible events: Watch the northern part of North America and Europe for possible winter storms, particularly the Northeastern U.S. Watch the Western Pacific near the Philippines and Guam, as well as the South Pacific around Australia for potential tropical cyclone action. Keep a very close eye on any other world regions experiencing bad weather by then, as floods and landslides remain a good possibility as well, particularly in East and Southeast Asia. Indonesia is also a hot spot for volcano activity during this time. Extreme Risk: The chance for natural disaster during December 23-27 is a rare 50 percent, with the risk for the disaster being severe being a staggering 40 percent.

December 30:
Most Likely Scenario: In very similar fashion to December 15th, a Powerful Earthquake could strike during these dates with possibly severe impacts. The chance of a Tsunami exists during this date, which is perfectly set up for a sudden natural disaster, most likely being a destructive earthquake around Magnitude 7.5 to even 8.0. This date is intense enough to maybe affect the days right next to it, infusing December 29 and December 31 with the a chance of bringing this same event, so the period December 29-31 should be watched just to be on the safe side. 2nd Likely Scenario: Another Sudden Natural Disaster, such as a Landslide, Tornado, Flash Flood, or Volcanic Eruption, could be the other main outcome of this powerful day. Again, such events could have severe impacts. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions closely, primarily along the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as Indonesia or China for instance. For the other sudden scenarios: Watch Southeast Asia and Central America for potential landslides and flash floods. Southeast Asia is also a hotspot for volcanoes, in particular Indonesia. Also watch the Southern U.S. for a possible tornado outbreak. Last but not least, watch any other world regions experiencing nasty weather by then. High Risk: The chance for natural disaster during this time is 30 percent with a 20 percent risk for that same disaster to be severe in nature.

The Month at a Glance:

December 2013 is a very strong follow-up to November, bringing more chances for natural disasters once again, likely being another very active month for disasters globally. There are 6 risk periods this month, in which 3 are “High Risk”, and 1 is even a rare “Extreme Risk”, meaning that December 2013 has about as much potential as November did for natural disasters. With November having been such a devastating month already, it might be a bit tough for December to be worse than November, but the chance that this new month brings a major natural disaster remains very strong. Unlike November 2013, this month seems more inclined to Earthquakes and other Sudden Natural Disasters, and less towards Weather-related disasters (although these are still possible, particularly winter storms and cyclones). December should begin quietly, but then perhaps turn nasty on December 6th and onwards, with the bulk of activity possibly occurring during the 2nd half of the month. The dates 12/6, 12/24, and 12/30 are largely responsible for bringing up this month's disaster risk greatly. Safe to say, December 2013 is set to perhaps challenge November 2013 for being the worst month for Natural Disasters in years, possibly bringing the world 3 to 4 Natural Disasters, of which 2 may be Severe in nature. Of these possible disasters; two may be earthquakes, one may be weather-related, particularly due to a tropical cyclone or winter storm, and the other possible disaster resulting from a landslide, flood or volcano. A Major Tsunami is also a real possibility in December 2013 as well, likely caused by one of the earthquake scenarios. Overall expect another above average month for natural disasters.

In such a month like this, I’ll be once again posting updates very regularly on here my friends. Let's hope the month isn't as bad as it sounds, and have a good time during the upcoming holidays no matter what happens around us! That's the Rat's take on December 2013!

UPDATE #2...12/14/13....@9:54 PM

EARTHQUAKE WATCH FOR DEC. 15
(12/14 - 12/16)

Looks like we have a potent Earthquake date coming up tomorrow, possibly extending some of that energy into Dec. 16. The main risk date is tomorrow, December 15, and it's a significant one at that. This may break the calm we've seen so far this month regarding strong quakes. The map below is the new one for this period. Notice how Central America moved up to the color orange, and how the Middle East is creeping up to green.

EARTHQUAKE RISK MAP
Valid for Dec. 14-16.....Main Risk Day: December 15
Keep in mind the colors' meanings, Orange is for a Significant Risk of seeing a Potentially Damaging M 6.0+ Earthquake striking during these dates, Green is for Medium Risk of seeing the same type of M 6.0+ Earthquake, Blue is for Low Risk of seeing the same type of quake.
(No Color regions also may have some risk, but is sufficiently small to be considered negligible for the period).

.............................................................................................................................

UPDATE #3......12/21/13 @ 1:18 AM

TORNADO WATCH FOR SOUTH-CENTRAL U.S. FOR DEC. 21-22

Looks like December 21's event could be a significant tornado outbreak across the Southern U.S. from Texas northeast to Arkansas, Louisiana and even into Alabama/Tennessee. There is strong potential for large, long track twisters later this afternoon into the night, a very rare event for December. Despite the time of year, this developing situation should be taken with extreme precaution since this date does have some chance for sudden natural disaster...which includes the tornado!

....................................................................................................................

UPDATE....12/23/13 @ 11:55 PM

EARTHQUAKE WARNING IN EFFECT FOR DECEMBER 24 - 25

The areas above have the largest risk of getting a M 6.0+ Quake during the period. These dates are extremely risky and may lead to an earthquake much larger, perhaps M 8.0+. Dec. 24 should be watched very closely, areas shaded in reds and oranges have the greatest risks for seeing a powerful and damaging quake. (Due to the high risk of these period, there are several active areas in red)

     ........................................................................................................................................................
UPDATE #5...12/29 @ 11:28 AM

EARTHQUAKE WARNING FOR DECEMBER 30

We got through the major risk dates of December 23-27 largely unscathed by earthquakes, where winter storms took the spotlight then. Now as we approach tomorrow, December 30, we have a dangerous "lone date" in which major earthquake disasters often take place! This could be the deal-breaker date this month and just to be safe, the period of concern should begin with today all the way through New Year's Eve (12/29 - 12/31), with 12/30 being the big risk date. This date is capable of bringing the world a M 7.0 - 8.0 Earthquake with probable severe impacts. See the map below for areas I believe may be at greatest risk:

Valid Dec 29 - Dec 31 2013, Main Risk Day: Dec 30

The areas enclosed above have a risk of seeing a Damaging M 6.0+ Earthquake, with areas in Blue having Low Risk, areas in Green having Medium Risk, areas in Orange having Significant Risk, and areas in Red having the Highest Risk.

NOVEMBER 2013's Potential Natural Disasters!

Hello everyone,

*Note* Here follows my November predictions as written a few days ago when posted on the prophecies forums, edits and updates will appear below the predictions separated by bold dotted lines (...) The original predictions written Oct. 29th can be seen in the following link: http://www.spiritualparanormalprophecy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=7308

It's that time again, time to see what Nature in this new month may have in store for our world! October brought its fair share of natural disasters to places like the Philippines and India, and now November looks set to only upswing these events...perhaps leading to a really large scale event somewhere soon. There is an iffy energy to this month, I don't know if you or others are feeling it too? Going by what I've always done to try predicting coming disasters, this month looks set to almost explode. With major holidays coming up, I know many of you may be very curious as to what I think may come this month, so I have finally formulated this somewhat lengthy forecast for a month that I feel truly deserves it. Nature may have several tricks up its sleeves in the weeks ahead, hopefully they will not cause negative effects and/or affect holiday plans. Will it be "Cold Turkey" this time around, only time will tell. My friends, here follows November 2013's predictions:

November 5-9:
Most Likely Scenario: Powerful Storm, likely Autumnal or even Winter-like in nature, with possibly significant to severe impacts to where it affects. These dates are strong, especially November 5th and November 8th, and perhaps set up for nasty weather events ranging from severe coastal storms to tornadoes. 2nd Likely Scenario: A Major Earthquake, with possibly significant to severe impacts, could be an issue during this time, particularly on November 5 and even more so during November 8-9. Such a quake could reach or even surpass Magnitude 7.5, and prove to be quite harmful. 3rd Possible Scenario: A Major Tropical Cyclone, possibly a Powerful Typhoon could make the news during these days. November is still an active time of the year for tropical storms and cyclones, particularly in the North Indian Ocean and Western Pacific. These dates are perfectly set up for a really bad typhoon or cyclone disaster, so this 3rd possibility for the period should be kept well in mind should something form over those waters! Main Areas to Watch: For the Storms, including both Non-tropical and Hurricanes/Typhoons: Watch the Western Pacific, as well as the North Indian Ocean for potentially destructive storms, and even the Caribbean Sea for any possible tropical storms...with a wary eye on Central America and Southeast Asia, especially around Taiwan and the Philippines, for Floods and Landslides that may be caused by these storms. Aside from areas already mentioned, monitor any other world areas experiencing bad weather then just to be on the safe side. For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as Japan or Pakistan for example. High Risk: The risk for natural disaster during this time is a heavy 35 percent, with the chance for the disaster becoming severe being 25 percent.

November 14:
1st Possible Scenario: Strong Earthquake, with possibly moderate to significant impacts where it hits. This date is set up for a possible sudden natural disaster, most likely being an earthquake around Magnitude 6.5 to 7.0. 2nd Possible Scenario: A Tornado Outbreak could occur on this date, as these events are also sudden in nature and November is known to be the "Second Season" for tornadoes, esp. in North America. 3rd Possible Scenario: Other sudden weather-related disasters, such as Flash Floods and Mudslides could also strike on this day. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as New Zealand or the Baja California area for example. For the Weather-related Events: Watch Central America as well as Southeast Asia, especially around Taiwan and the Philippines, closely especially for when it comes to floods and landslides that may be caused by severe rains. Monitor the Southeastern Quadrant of the United States for any possible severe weather episodes that could give rise to tornadoes. Watch other world areas experiencing bad weather by then as well. Modest Risk: The risk for natural disaster during this time is 15 percent.

November 16-19:
Most Likely Scenario: A Major Storm, probably Non-Tropical could wreak havoc during these dates with possibly severe impacts. This storm could be a Massive Coastal Storm or a Severe Weather System capable of producing all sorts of weather from Snow to Tornadoes. Should something like this form and affect land, it could be among the worst of its kind due to the nature of these dates. 2nd Likely Scenario: A Devastating Typhoon or Cyclone, could be the other main outcome of this potent period. These dates also favor a major tropical cyclone related disaster, likely coming from a Major Typhoon in the West Pacific or a Major Cyclone in the Indian Ocean. This event is nearly as likely as the first-case scenario with the non-tropical storm, so areas in the tropics...particularly in the Eastern Hemisphere, should be on high watch by then especially if something does form. 3rd Possible Scenario: A Major Earthquake is also a possibility, likeliest on November 16-17 and to a lesser extent on November 19...possibly attaining Magnitude 7.5+ with possibly severe impacts. This is a really dangerous time period, so any earthquakes that strike during the could really prove devastating. Main Areas to Watch: For the Weather-type Scenarios: Watch the Western Tropical Pacific and the North Indian Ocean very closely for possible tropical cyclones. The U.S. and Canada, as well as Europe, could also be a target for major storms of the non-tropical kind, which may bring the threat for Tornadoes in the Southern U.S. and Blizzards in the North. Also keep eyes on the Caribbean region for the slight chance that a tropical storm gets going down there and threatens Central America or the Islands with heavy rains, producing floods and mudslides. Watch any other world regions experiencing nasty weather by then. For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions closely, primarily along the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as the Philippines or Japan for instance. High Risk: The chance for natural disaster during this time is a very heavy 40 percent with a 30 percent risk for that same disaster to be severe in nature.

November 23:
Most Likely Scenario: Major Earthquake with possibly significant to severe impacts, with the Magnitude possibly registering between M 7.0 and 8.0 on this really earthquake-prone date. Out of all the dates this month, November 23rd is the most risky for significant earthquake disasters, and powerful earthquakes too. There is a slight chance that the earthquake could occur just outside this date, meaning November 22 or as late as November 24 into early November 25...where the main central focus date is 11/23. There is also a significant risk for a severe tsunami during this time as well. This date is almost exactly set up like the September 24 date that brought the Pakistan Earthquake several weeks ago. 2nd Likely Scenario: Another type of sudden natural disaster could occur on or around this day, most likely in the form of a Landslide, Flash Flood or even Volcanic Eruption. 3rd Possible Scenario: Despite being Late November, I can't dismiss the chance for a quick-hitting typhoon or tornado to make headlines on this date. Should a tropical cyclone exist prior to this date and be heading in the general direction of land, or a tornado outbreak become imminent, the risk for this event scenario will go up significantly. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as South America and the Mediterranean for example. For the other possible events: Watch the Western Pacific, as well as the North Indian Ocean, and even the Caribbean tropical cyclone action. Keep a wary eye on any other world regions experiencing bad weather by then, as floods and landslides remain a good possibility as well, particularly in East and Southeast Asia. Indonesia is also a hot spot for volcano activity during this time. High Risk: The chance for natural disaster on this date is 30 percent, with the risk for the disaster becoming severe being roughly 20 percent.

November 26-29:
Most Likely Scenario: In very similar fashion to November 5th-9th, a Powerful Storm, probably Non-Tropical, could strike during these dates with possibly severe impacts. This storm could be a Massive Coastal Storm or a Severe Weather System capable of producing all sorts of weather from Snow to Tornadoes. This time of year begins increasing the risk for Winter Storms, so a Major Winter Storm/ Snowstorm is not out of the question. 2nd Likely Scenario: A Major Typhoon or Cyclone, could be the other main outcome of this powerful time-frame. These dates favor a serious tropical cyclone related disaster, likely coming from a Major Typhoon in the West Pacific or a Major cyclone in the Indian Ocean. This event is nearly as likely as the first-case scenario with the non-tropical storm, so areas in the tropics...particularly in the West Pacific in the vicinity of the Philippines, should be on high watch by then especially if something does form by these dates. 3rd Possible Scenario: A Major Earthquake is also a strong candidate event, likeliest to happen on November 26 and to a lesser extent on November 29...possibly attaining Magnitude 7.5+ with possibly severe impacts. There is an outside chance that this Earthquake Scenario occurs just before, on November 25. For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions closely, primarily along the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as Indonesia or China for instance. High Risk: The chance for natural disaster during this time is 30 percent with a 20 percent risk for that same disaster to be severe in nature.

The Month at a Glance:

November 2013 is a very ominous-looking month set up to perhaps be the peak month for natural events and disasters this year (as long as December doesn't eclipse it). There is a "near-normal" amount of 5 risk periods this month, but FOUR are of the "High Risk" Category, indicating that "Quality" over Quantity is the theme for this coming month. The month may begin rather peacefully and then quickly pick up in intensity by November 5, and remain active all the way through month's end. There are many different possible outcomes for this month, but I can tell that Weather-related Disasters and Potent Earthquakes could once again be the main stories in November 2013. Aside from the unusual negative nature of this month's dates, this particular month sees an ancient astrological and numerological pattern that is of much concern, one that has brought massive earthquakes before, and therefore infuses this month with special risks for earthquakes and tsunamis. This is the Chinese Year of the Snake, Month of the Boar, and a Numerology Number 6 year...looking at past Novembers in years like this one yields a notable amount of major earthquakes and even tsunami incidents. Events of past Novembers of Snake "Number 6" Years include a Massive Magnitude 9.2 earthquake in Indonesia that occurred on Nov. 25, 1833 with a devastating tsunami, and a less-consequential Magnitude 8.2 Earthquake striking near the Azores Islands on the same date in 1941. Other events in the Year of the Snake under different Numerology numbers also show up, including earthquakes off Japan in Nov. 1953 and a deadly quake in Iran on November 17, 1893. To say the least, this month deserves much attention IMO. November 2013 may bring the world 3 to 4 Natural Disasters, of which 2 may be Severe in nature. Of these possible disasters, two may be Earthquake-related and the other two Weather-related where one could be the result of a major tropical cyclone. A Major Tsunami is also a real possibility in November 2013. Overall expect a well-above average month for natural disasters.

In such a month like this, I may be posting updates very regularly on here my friends. Let's hope the month isn't as bad as it sounds, and have a good time during the upcoming holidays no matter what Nature decides to do!

UPDATE #1 on November 4th @ 12:36 AM

TYPHOON TROUBLE BREWING IN THE WESTERN PACIFIC

Apparently, the above image is giving clues to the fact that Scenario 3 for the Nov. 5-9 may be in the works. Meteorologists at Accuweather.com are latching on to the idea that three separate tropical cyclones may create havoc out in the West Pacific, with the first two occurring in and around the South China Sea starting on Nov. 4-5 and into the 7th. The 3rd and larger storm which appears on the right side of the above pic taken on 11/4, is potentially the most dangerous system...which could strengthen into a strong typhoon as it barrels towards the Philippines. The nation will need to be very vigilant as we head into late week (November 7 - 9) for a possibly serious typhoon threat! Scenario 3 would be that, a typhoon-related natural disaster during dates that are perfectly set up for this sort of event. Stay tuned!

EARTHQUAKE WATCH 11/5 - 11/9
WORLD MAP

Key: Areas in Red have a Higher Risk for a strong and damaging Magnitude 6.0+ Earthquake. Areas in Orange are still considered of Significant Risk, Green  are of Medium Risk, and Blue are Low Risk for the same type of quake.

UPDATE...11/6/13 @ 12:35 AM

MONSTER TYPHOON HEADING FOR THE PHILIPPINES

Folks, it appears Scenario #3 for the Nov. 5-9 period is in the making, a very intense typhoon by the name of Haiyan quickly formed during the day yesterday and is currently making a run for CATEGORY 5. According to the JWTC (Joint Typhoon Warning Center), this storm is expected to make a violent landfall in the Central Philippines on Friday into Saturday, November 8th and 9th. I am very concerned about this possible disaster in the works, especially because it is poised to strike during the worst looking dates in this period, and also one of the worst dates this whole month (Nov. 8). This tells me the outcome of this storm could turn out really bad. Please pay close attention to this event if you or anyone you know resides in the Philippines, this could be a real catastrophe in the making! This is a typhoon Warning.

Forecast Track from the JWTC:

Up to the minute Meteorological following of this storm's progress can be seen in the following weather community's url:

URGENT UPDATE...HISTORY IN THE MAKING...NOVEMBER 7 2013 @ 6:17 PM:

SUPER-TYPHOON HAIYAN BREAKS WORLD RECORD FOR STRONGEST LANDFALL IN RECORDED HISTORY, 195 MPH SUSTAINED WINDS, 235 MPH WIND GUSTS.

This is it everyone, the Philippines are experiencing what may be their worst-ever typhoon, and what has now become the world's most powerful tropical cyclone landfall since the satellite era began in the 1950s. The central low pressure was at 895 Mb, which is an incredible measurement of this beast's intensity. Unlike most tropical cyclones and hurricanes, this Category 5 monster peaked in strength WHILE STRIKING LAND. Being in the eye of this thing would literally be like hell on earth, several hurricane and typhoon chasers are there right now, so the world may get a glimpse of how severe this storm is later on. May God watch over all in the path of this SuperTyphoon!

Landfall Satellite Image, November 8th around dawn Philippines Time:

This is literally like a 40-mile wide EF 5 Tornado! Catastrophic damage is very likely.

UPDATE...11/16/13 @ 12:41 AM

DEVASTATION 'AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE' IN THE PHILIPPINES

3,600+ DEAD AFTER CATEGORY 5 TYPHOON DISASTER.

The typhoon that hit the Philippines last week on November 7th-8th could only be described by one word: Catastrophic. The storm hit while at peak intensity, likely ranking as the most powerful tropical cyclone (including hurricanes) to ever have hit land in generations. 3,600 persons have been confirmed dead, and many are still missing in vast wastelands that used to be cities. Not only did the storm's category 5 winds destroy everything in its path, the typhoon also brought in a most ruinous storm surge higher than 20 feet, which swept everything else including many of the victims pell mell out to sea. This is easily the world's worst natural disaster since the March 2011 Japanese Earthquake and Tsunami.

MAJOR M 7.4 EARTHQUAKE STRIKES SCOTIA SEA SOUTH OF CHILE.

Luckily the earthquake struck 900 miles from Chile and Argentina, with little risk for significant tsunami. This occurred at 12:54 AM local time Nov 16. This goes to show 11/16 has strong earthquake potential, and due to this an EARTHQUAKE WATCH is up for this new risk period covering Nov. 16 through the 19th. November 16 - 17 and the 19th are the main EQ focus dates.

DEVASTATING TORNADOES RIP THROUGH AMERICAN MIDWEST ON 11/17

1000's of homes were destroyed by a series of tornadoes that swept through the U.S. Midwest on Sunday November 17, with the worst tornado striking and flattening the town of Washington, Illinois. This twister measured up to EF-4 status and was only 10 mph shy of being the strongest rating, the EF-5. 7 people were killed by the outbreak that brought over 40 tornadoes in all.

EARTHQUAKE WATCH: November 22 - 29
Earthquake Risk Zone Map: Valid 11/22 - 11/29.

Here's the new earthquake risk map for the two upcoming risk periods, where the main risk dates are Nov. 23, Nov. 26-27, and Nov. 29. Due to the nature of these strong risk dates, the other surrounding dates between 11/22 and 11/29 must be watched closely as well.

October 2013 Natural Disaster Predictions

Hello everyone!

October is now here and the seasons are set to change as we press into Autumn (or Spring if you're in the southern hemisphere). This change however, may not be so gentle and gradual because the month is riddled with dates that favor weather events and perhaps weather disasters. This month, it seems tropical cyclones and floods may be the dominant issues, so precaution is advised. The following is what I feel is how the month of October will pan out, check it out y'all:

October 7-9:
One Possible Scenario: A Tropical Storm System, either a Typhoon or a Hurricane could make things interesting during this time, perhaps bringing moderate to significant impacts to land areas. This could very well be related to Tropical Storm Karen, which is currently poised to strike the Northern U.S. Gulf coast as a tropical storm...which may lead to potential flooding rains as we head into these dates across the Southeastern U.S. 2nd Possible Scenario: A Weather-related Disaster, likely in the form of Flash Flooding, Severe Weather, and even Landslides caused by heavy rain, is also a sizable probability during this risk period. It may or may not be a side effect of tropical storms then; really any region experiencing nasty weather should be on guard for one of these weather-related side effects. 3rd Possible Scenario: A strong earthquake is also possible, likeliest on October 8th and possibly attaining Magnitude 7.0 with probable damaging impacts. Main Areas to Watch: For the Weather and Storms: Watch the Gulf of Mexico region of North America, the Caribbean, Asia and Europe with extra attention on Southeast Asia for tropical cyclone activity. The U.S. and Canada could also be a target for tropical storms wandering north out of the tropics during this time, especially in the southern portion of the U.S. To be safe, keep an eye on any other world area experiencing bad weather as well since other weather-related disasters such as floods and mudslides, and even tornadoes are also possible. For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, like Pakistan for example. Significant Risk: The chance for natural disaster during this time is 25 percent with a 15 percent risk that the disaster becomes severe.

October 17-20:
Most Likely Scenario: Strong Typhoon or Hurricane, with possibly significant to severe impacts to land areas which it hits. These dates are pretty potent, especially early from October 17-18 and perhaps set up for a major natural disaster, possibly resulting from a tropical cyclone. This happens to be right during what is known as the "second peak" of Hurricane Season in both West Pacific and Atlantic, so caution is advised should a named storm develop by then and set its sights on a particular region. 2nd Likely Scenario: A Powerful Earthquake, with possibly significant impacts, can also occur during this time, primarily on October 17-18 and to a lesser extent on October 20. Such a quake could reach or even surpass magnitude 7.0, and prove quite destructive. 3rd Possible Scenario: Severe Weather outside tropical storms and hurricanes is also possible, with the main threats perhaps being Flash Floods and Mudslides. Tornadoes cannot be ruled out either, especially if the severe weather events are caused by cold fronts. Main Areas to Watch: For the Severe Weather, including Hurricanes and Typhoons: Watch the Western Pacific, as well as the Central and Eastern Pacific, and the Tropical Atlantic Ocean in the general vicinity of the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico for potentially strong tropical cyclones...with a wary eye on Central America as well as Southeast Asia, especially around Taiwan and the Philippines, when it comes to floods and landslides in addition to tropical storms and typhoons. Aside from areas already mentioned, monitor any other world area experiencing bad weather by then just to be on the safe side. For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as New Zealand or South Asia for example. High Risk: The risk for natural disaster during this time is 30 percent, with the chance for the disaster becoming severe being 20 percent.

October 23-29:
Most Likely Scenario: This rather long risk period could bring a Major Weather-Related Disaster, possibly Tropical-Cyclone related with possibly significant to severe impacts. This time of year, the area at most risk would be the Western Pacific basin, especially from the Philippines to Taiwan, Southern China and Southern Japan. A major typhoon is very possible during this time. Should a tropical cyclone exist prior to this date and be heading in the general direction of land, the risk for this event will go up significantly. 2nd Likely Scenario: Another type of weather-related disaster could occur during these days, most likely in the form of a Massive Flood, Severe Weather including tornadoes, or even a series of Mudslides. 3rd Possible Scenario: A Major Earthquake could also make headlines during this period, especially on the dates of October 23-24, even more on October 27, and to a slightly lesser extent on October 29. These dates are pretty powerful as well, and due to this the risk for a quake over Magnitude 7.0 is again very real. Main Areas to Watch: For the possible weather events: Watch much of the Western Pacific, as well as the Central and Eastern Pacific, and the Tropical Atlantic Ocean in the general vicinity of the Caribbean Islands for possible significant tropical cyclone action. There is a particularly high risk for major typhoons during this time frame. Keep a wary eye on any other world regions experiencing bad weather by then, as floods and landslides remain a sizable possibility as well, particularly in East and Southeast Asia as well as Central America. For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, like Eastern Asia for example.  Southeast Asia is also a hot spot for volcano activity, so monitor the region closely for even this as well. High Risk: The chance for natural disaster on this date is a substantial 30 percent, with the risk for the disaster becoming severe being about 20 percent.

The Month at a Glance:

October 2013 features less in the way of the number of risk periods compared to the September past...but the THREE risk periods this month are very strong, at "Significant category" or greater, leading to the probability that two natural disasters will strike in October 2013, with one of these possibly being severe in nature. Typhoons, Hurricanes, Floods and other related weather disasters could be the main news-breakers this month, and any regions set to receive nasty weather by the above risk dates should be monitored very closely. With the power of the risk dates this month, there is also a risk for seeing a major and destructive earthquake. Bottom line, October 2013 does not look like it will slow the pace of natural disasters that began in September...and we may be seeing one or two natural disasters this month...in which one, or even both, could come from the weather. Earthquake disasters are still possible this month, so EQ zones can't let their guard down either!

Updates will be posted, possibly often, whenever necessary!
Have a safe and happy month no matter what Mother/Father Nature decides to bring.

UPDATE #1....October 4th @ 11:25 PM

TROPICAL STORM KAREN TO AFFECT NORTHERN GULF COAST

This storm sprang up fast a few days ago and is now setting its sights on the Southeastern U.S. and Northern Gulf Coast late tomorrow into Sunday. Right now its is still predicted to come ashore as a tropical storm and not a hurricane. In my opinion, this sounds about right since it will be coming in just before the upcoming risk period gets going...so chances are that its initial landfall will not be more than just a nuisance for some. However, its remnants are forecast to still be in the Southeast U.S. by the start of this period (the 7th and 8th), so I feel it may cause some of the possible impacts mentioned in the scenarios for these dates...mainly flooding rains. Watch the situation closely if you will be in this region (mainly Georgia and the Carolinas) as we head into these dates.

UPDATE #2...October 10th @ 9:41 PM

EXTREMELY DANGEROUS CYCLONE HEADING FOR INDIA...LANDFALL EXPECTED EARLY SATURDAY.

It will be a miracle if India dodges severe impacts from this one.

The storm is poised to make landfall in just a little over a day's time, on Saturday India local time. It has literally blossomed "overnight" from a weak tropical storm to a monster cyclone in just 36 hours! Currently, forecasters are warning this system could strike as a category 4 or even 5 storm, with potentially devastating results. It is about the same size that Hurricane Katrina was in the Gulf of Mexico 8 years ago. Lets hope for the best possible scenario with this storm.

I just hope that the fact this thing is supposed to hit on dates that supposedly have no risk for disaster means something, and that a major disaster is somehow luckily avoided. However, with caution I say anyone in this region should take utmost care and prepare for the worst, no matter what day this hits land!

The Cyclone's Projected Path toward Northeast India

..........................................................................................................................
UPDATE #3...OCT. 16 @ 11:20 PM

CYCLONE'S IMPACT MUCH LOWER THAN FEARED
The cyclone that struck India a few days ago weakened right before landfall to a 120 MPH storm, and produced a smaller storm surge than feared. This in tandem with the successful preparedness of the Indian Government and the well-done evacuations kept the death toll at a minimum. The storm that could have killed 10,000+ claimed 25 lives, many of which were indirectly caused by the cyclone. Damages were still heavy, but not as severe as feared as well. Overall hats off to India for their preparation efforts because they really paid off!

MAJOR EARTHQUAKE (7.1) STRIKES THE CENTRAL PHILIPPINES ON 10/15
Nearly 150 people lost their lives in the Central Philippines when a strong earthquake struck at 8:12 in the morning of the 15th, crumbling several buildings and leaving major damage in parts of the nation, most affected the island of Bohol. Nearly 300 others were injured in this latest earthquake disaster.

ANOTHER MAJOR EARTHQUAKE (M. 7.0+) LIKELY SOON. EARTHQUAKE WATCH UP NOW FOR OCTOBER 17-20, SOUTHEAST ASIA THE LIKELIEST TARGET.

With all the recent earthquake activity, I am somewhat concerned that we may see another, perhaps stronger earthquake in Southeast Asia in the next few days. Other earthquake zones should also be watched closely just in case. The map below shows where I feel a strong or major earthquake could strike during the October 17-20 period:

September 2013's Potential Natural Disasters

Hello everyone!

We round out yet another month in our lives, and begin to enter a fresh new one...September. It is the early morning hours of September 1st over here in Florida, and I've finally put together the new predictions for September, concerning any possible natural phenomena, and especially natural disasters, that may be "in the cards" for certain days of this month. Last month was somewhat busy with several flooding events around the globe, and a few strong earthquakes. Luckily however, these events didn't reach earth-shattering levels or leave lasting wounds like other disasters of the past, such as Hurricane Katrina or 2004's Tsunami for instance. September 2013 has its noteworthy dates which deserve attention, and could favor the most common natural disaster typically seen in this month (hurricanes). It's a month that seems about as strong as August did, and likely threats may come from tropical weather systems and earthquakes. However, with a little luck, we might still see a month that remains within the norm and brings about-average activity for natural disasters around the globe rather than above-normal activity. Then again, the word of caution is that this month still has some strong risk periods, and we would still have to be on watch just to be on the safe side...after all, September really is the climatological peak of hurricane season in both the North Atlantic and North Pacific Oceans. To examine this month with better details, here follow September 2013's predictions:

September 1:

One Possible Scenario: An Earthquake with possibly moderate impacts may shake things up a bit later today, possibly being in the Magnitude 6.0 to 6.5 range. 2nd Possible Scenario: A Weather-related Disaster, likely in the form of Flash Flooding, Severe Weather, and even Landslides caused by heavy rain. This date isn't particularly dangerous, but still deserves some mention as really any region experiencing nasty weather should be on guard for one of these weather-related side effects. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, like China for example. For the Severe Weather: Watch North America, Asia and Europe with extra attention on Southeast Asia. The U.S. and Canada could also be a target for Severe Weather and Tornadoes during this time, especially in the northern plains of the U.S. To be safe, keep an eye on any other world area experiencing bad weather as today progresses. Modest Risk: The chance for natural disaster during this time is 10 percent.

September 6-10:

Most Likely Scenario: Major Earthquake with possibly significant to severe impacts, with the Magnitude possibly registering between 7.0 and 7.5, likeliest to strike on September 6 or in second place, September 9-10. 2nd Likely Scenario: Strong Typhoon or Hurricane, with possible impacts to land areas. This scenario does not look too likely as of this point since reliable weather forecasts aren't calling for any serious activity over the next 2 weeks, but in September things can change very quickly in the Tropics...and should something form by or during this period, this scenario could become the outcome. 3rd Possible Scenario: Severe Flooding and landslides caused by heavy rain are other things to watch for during this period. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, like New Zealand for example. For the Hurricane or Typhoon: Watch the Western Pacific, as well as the Central and Eastern Pacific, and the Tropical Atlantic Ocean in the general vicinity of the Lesser Antilles islands. Keep a wary eye on any other world regions experiencing bad weather by then, as floods and landslides remain a good possibility as well, particularly in East and Southeast Asia. High Risk: The chance for natural disaster during these dates is around 30 percent, with a Severe Disaster probability of 20 percent.

September 15-19:

Most Likely Scenario: Strong Typhoon or Hurricane, with possibly significant to severe impacts to land areas which it hits. These dates are also a real doozy, and perhaps the most dangerously set up for a major natural disaster resulting from a tropical cyclone. This happens to be right at the peak of Hurricane Season in both Pacific and Atlantic, so caution is advised should a named storm develop by then and set its sights on a particular region. 2nd Likely Scenario: Severe Weather outside tropical storms and hurricanes is also possible, with the main threats perhaps being Floods and Landslides. Tornadoes cannot be ruled out either, especially if the severe weather events are caused by cold fronts. 3rd Possible Scenario: A Powerful Earthquake, with possibly significant impacts, can also occur during this time, primarily on September 15 and even a bit more on September 18-19. Such a quake could reach or even surpass magnitude 7.0, and prove quite destructive. Main Areas to Watch: For the Severe Weather, including Hurricanes and Typhoons: Watch the Western Pacific, as well as the Central and Eastern Pacific, and the Tropical Atlantic Ocean in the general vicinity of the Lesser Antilles islands. Watch North America, the Caribbean, Asia and Europe for potentially strong tropical cyclones...with a wary eye on Southeast Asia, especially around Taiwan and the Philippines, when it comes to floods and landslides in addition to tropical storms and typhoons. The Atlantic/Caribbean and Eastern North Pacific may become very alive with hurricanes during this time. The Northern half of the U.S. may be a prime target for Severe Weather and even a few Tornadoes, especially if a strong early-season cold fron makes its way south from Canada. Aside from areas already mentiones, monitor any other world area experiencing bad weather by then just to be on the cautious side. For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, such as in and around Alaska for example. High Risk: The risk for natural disaster during this time is a strong 30 percent, with the chance for the disaster becoming severe being 20 percent.

September 24:

Most Likely Scenario: Major Earthquake with possibly significant to severe impacts, with the Magnitude possibly registering between 7.0 and 8.0 on this really earthquake-prone date. Out of all the dates this month, September 24th is the most risky for significant earthquake disasters, and powerful earthquakes too. There is a slight chance that the earthquake could occur just outside this date, meaning late on September 23 or early on September 25...where the main central focus date is 9/24. 2nd Likely Scenario: Another type of sudden natural disaster could occur on this day, most likely in the form of a Landslide, Flash Flood or even Volcanic Eruption. 3rd Possible Scenario: Being September, I can't dismiss the chance for a quick-hitting typhoon or hurricane to make headlines on this date. Should a tropical cyclone exist prior to this date and be heading in the general direction of land, the risk for this event will go up significantly. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the "Pacific Ring of Fire" and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, like Eastern Asia for example. For the other possible events: Watch the Western Pacific, as well as the Central and Eastern Pacific, and the Tropical Atlantic Ocean in the general vicinity of the Lesser Antilles islands for possible tropical cyclone action. Keep a wary eye on any other world regions experiencing bad weather by then, as floods and landslides remain a good possibility as well, particularly in East and Southeast Asia. This same area is also a hot spot for volcano activity. High Risk: The chance for natural disaster on this date is a substantial 30 percent, with the risk for the disaster becoming severe being about 20 percent.

September 27-28:

One Possible Scenario: Tropical Storm or Severe Weather event, possibly resulting from tropical cyclone activity in general. A weak to moderate hurricane/typhoon could make its effects felt during this 2-day period, possibly resulting in moderate impacts. 2nd Possible Scenario: Flash Floods, Mudslides and probable Tornadoes could also be in store for this time frame. Main Areas to Watch: Watch North America, Asia and Europe...with an extra eye on Southeast Asia and the Caribbean for tropical systems. Also, watch any other world regions experiencing bad weather then. Modest Risk: The chance for natural disaster during this time is 15 percent.

September 30:

Most Probable Scenario: A Powerful Earthquake seems like a good bet for this date, possibly being in the Magnitude 7.0 range with significant impacts. Aside from September 24, this date is the second-most earthquake-prone date of the month...and deserves its own "earthquake watch". 2nd Probable Scenario: Another type of sudden natural disaster could occur on this day, possibly in the form of a Landslide, Flash Flood or even Volcanic Eruption. 3rd Possible Scenario: Just like in the case of September 24, I can't rule out the chance for a quick-hitting typhoon or hurricane to make headlines on this day. Main Areas to Watch: For the Earthquake: Watch the world's earthquake-prone regions, primarily along the Ring of Fire and any areas recently experiencing earthquake activity, like Mexico for example. For the other probabilities: Watch North America, Asia and Europe with again...extra attention on Southeast Asia, as well as the Caribbean Islands for tropical systems. The U.S. is still a target area for Severe Weather in early Fall, and isolated Tornadoes could still occur during this time. Asia is also a hot spot for volcanic activity, especially in Indonesia. Significant Risk: The chance for natural disaster on Sep. 30th 2013 is 20 percent, with the risk for the disaster becoming severe at 10 percent.

The Month at a Glance:

While all seems generally quiet in the tropics around the world in the last few days, the most risky month for hurricane activity is just beginning. Despite current weather forecast models showing little activity for the coming month, I believe things will change dramatically over the coming weeks. With the risk periods looking the way they look this September, I have a feeling that the quiet stretch may give way to a very busy time with regards to hurricanes and typhoons, and that we will see a powerful storm threaten land later this month. Hopefully, such a monster that develops will miss land areas altogether! September 2013 is a very Hurricane and Typhoon prone month, and either the Western & Eastern Pacific or the Atlantic could become very active very soon. Major Earthquakes are also a possibility this month, so in general we may be looking at 2 to 3 Natural Disasters this September...in which 1 is caused by a Strong Earthquake, 1 is caused by a Tropical Cyclone (Hurricane or Typhoon), and 1 extra natural disaster may be a result of Severe Weather, including things like Flash Floods and Landslides. One of these three natural disasters could prove to be severe. September 2013 will continue a relatively active stretch for Earth that could be in place through year's end.

Updates will be posted, possibly often, whenever necessary!

UPDATE #1...Sept. 4th 2013 @ 11:41 PM

Tropical Storm Gabrielle forms in Caribbean...Poses Immediate Threats to Puerto Rico, Later Threats to Hispaniola and Southeast Bahamas.

Tropical Storm Gabrielle just developed right below Puerto Rico earlier this evening and is poised to give the island nation tons of rain over the next few days...with potential effects to Hispaniola and the far Southeastern Bahamas over the next few days, extending well into the first part of the September 6-10 window. I feel the main threats with this system at the present moment will be dangerous heavy rains and flash flooding/ Mudslide threats across these islands, Puerto Rico in particular. Caution is advised for anyone residing in this region or traveling here over the next few days, watch this storm closely!

Brand New Tropical Storm Gabrielle Close to Midnight on Sept. 5th

Tropical Storm Gabrielle's Forecast Path (Courtesy of The Weather Channel)

As you may already know, September 6th through the 10th favors both Hurricane or Tropical Storm related disasters as well as Flooding events. This could be the manifestation of the upcoming period, and this is a reason for concern IMO. Heavy Flooding rains could set up over land areas in this region well after the storm moves north out to sea, especially if the storm grows in size and strengthens, where it could set up a "tail" of storms over land areas...helping to feed the storm as it moves away...leading to possibly severe flooding. Please stay tuned to local weather TV if you or loved ones are in the region.

Aside from this, a 6.5 Magnitude Earthquake shook Indonesia on September 1st, soon followed by another 6.5 Quake in Japan's south. Luckily neither event proved damaging or deadly! We should also be on watch for Quakes during the upcoming period just in case.

UPDATE #2 on September 15th Early AM

DOUBLE TROUBLE For MEXICO Via 2 HURRICANES

9/15 - 9/19

Mexico is finding itself in an unusual weather situation, and one which could potentially prove devastating starting later today (Sunday Sep. 15th) and into the early week during the remainder of the current risk period window. As if right on schedule, a strengthening hurricane called Ingrid is closing in on Mexico's East Gulf Coast with potentially dangerous strength. The category 1 storm might have a shot at becoming a Cat 2 perhaps before barreling inland on Monday the 16th if it doesn't weaken slightly due to its proximity to land right now. Either way, the storm's main impact will occur once the storm is inland. Once inland it should head west straight for the mountainous regions, possibly causing life threatening flooding and landslides! To make matters even worse, a second tropical system, Tropical Storm Manuel, is also poised to crash ashore Mexico's Pacific West Coast later today just hours before Ingrid, and might also strengthen into a low-end hurricane. This storm will only add to the moisture delivered by Ingrid, and the two storms combined could set the stage for an unusually severe flooding disaster across Mexico's mountainous North-Central interior in the coming 4 days!

Notice the two storms currently surrounding central Mexico below.

These dates (Sep 15-19) are ripe for disaster, seeing something like this gets me very concerned. All interests in this region of Mexico should be on high alert.

EARTHQUAKE WATCH 9/15 - 9/19...Primarily Sept. 15 and Sept. 18-19.

Earthquakes are still a significant concern during this date, as well as the period where another risk peak exists during the 18th and 19th. There is a good chance that we could see a Magnitude 7.0+ Earthquake between now and Thursday the 19th...and any such quake could prove damaging and even disastrous during a high risk period like this. The map below shows the areas I feel are most at risk for getting the quake: Once again, the areas shaded are at notable risk for a Strong Earthquake (Considered to be Magnitude 6.0+) that could prove damaging. Areas enclosed in Blue are at a notable, but Low risk, of seeing this sort of Earthquake. Areas enclosed in  Green are at a Moderate risk For getting this same sort of strong quake. Areas in Orange are at Significant Risk for the same 6.0+ shaker. Areas not shown still have some sort of risk, but is much smaller than the colored areas and may be called "very low risk". This is only based on my observation of recent moderate to strong earthquake activity...as other stronger quakes tend to strike around areas currently experiencing significant recent EQ activity. See the Quake Risk Map below:

Valid from 9/15 - 9/19, 2013.

UPDATE #3....SEP. 23 @ 11:25 pm

MAJOR EARTHQUAKE WATCH FOR SEPTEMBER 24TH - EARLY 25TH.

Beware all seismic areas recently experiencing EQ activity over the last few weeks, tomorrow's date is a pretty potent one for a powerful earthquake to happen. The magnitude of this possible quake may surpass 7.0 and even near the 8.0, or cause effects similar to earthquakes of this strength even if it is in the M 6.0 to 6.5 range. This type of risk date (9/24/13) is not common, and associated risks for disaster are fairly notable. The map below shows where I feel extra attention may be needed:

9-24-2013

Keep in mind the colored lines above show the places I believe would be most at risk, any region enclosed by the colored lines should be watched closely. While all earthquake zones have a certain risk, no matter how small and should be watched, the colored regions have more risk. Beginning with areas in BLUE having a Low Risk for a strong, possibly damaging Magnitude 6.0+ quake on this date. Areas in GREEN have a Medium Risk for this same M 6.0+ quake. Areas in ORANGE have a Significant Risk for this same type of powerful quake. With a risk date of this magnitude, I include areas in RED which have a High Risk for this same type of quake...and may easily experience a greater earthquake.

Watch the Earth closely tomorrow just to be on the safe side!

UPDATE #4...SEPTEMBER 29th @ 11:05 AM

DEVASTATING M-7.8  EARTHQUAKE ROCKED PAKISTAN ON 9/24

At least 515 people have died in the terrible earthquake that ravaged southern Pakistan's Baluchistan province, leveling most mud brick homes near the epicenter and leaving over 100,000 homeless. The earthquake was massive, at 7.8 magnitude, and was strong enough to even create an island offshore the area where the quake struck. More powerful tremors are likely in this region over the coming months.

EARTHQUAKE WATCH

NEW EARTHQUAKE RISK MAP FOR SEPTEMBER 30

Continue close watch from Pakistan southeast towards Indonesia for highest risk of a damaging Magnitude 6.0+. This date (Sep. 30) is also quite strong, so something larger in the 7.0+ range is a real possibility!
